Pentagoet Inn Policies

Deposit for Reservations

A deposit is required to confirm your reservation. We request a 50% deposit of your total stay, with a minimum deposit of one night. A confirmation of your reservation will be sent to you once we have received your deposit.

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel all or a portion of your visit we will gladly refund your deposit if you have notified us by the cancellation date, 10 days prior to your arrival date. If you must cancel all or a portion of your visit with less than 10 days notice you are responsible for the duration of your stay unless we are able to re-rent the room. If we re-rent your cancelled room the duration of your stay will be refunded fully. There is a $25 administration fee per room for all cancellations. Certain group events have different cancellation periods which will be noted in your confirmation letter. Refunds on deposits for cancelled large parties and events outside the cancellation period may take up to 30 days to process.

Check-In

Check-In is between 3:00 and 6:00 in the afternoon. State-issued ID is checked upon arrival and/or the credit card used for booking. For arrival after 6:00 in the evening please make arrangements in advance.

Check-Out

Check-out is at 10:30. If you need a later time please let us know, we have some flexibility.

House Charges

Guests of the inn have the amenity of charging restaurant & pub bills to their rooms. Guests who leave the restaurant & pub without closing out the bill with their server will automatically have the bill charged to their room with a 20% gratuity. The Pentagoet does not comp bills for drinks or food unless at the discretion & permission of one of the co-owners.

Large Parties Restaurant Policy

Parties of 6 or more at the pub & restaurant will have an automatic 20% tip added to their bill. Additional tip on top of that is at the discretion of the party.

Parties of 10+ may be required to book a private room, in order to accommodate the size of their party & for the comfort of our other dining guests. Booking a private room requires a non-refundable room rental fee of $500. This fee is not a deposit nor a credit toward your final bill. The rental fee helps cover the cost of closing down the room to a private party & also helps cover the cost of our kitchen having to do extra prep for a large party. These large parties are also subject to the aforementioned 20% automatic gratuity.

Smoking

The Inn is non smoking as per Maine State Law. A cleaning fee of $100 will apply for non-compliance.

Extra Cleaning

If there is an instance in which your room requires extra cleaning (including but not limited to cases of vomiting, incontinence, or severe property damage due to intoxication), the management can add an extra cleaning fee to your room, at an amount to their discretion.

Pets

We do have several dog-friendly rooms in our Perkins House. There is an additional $25 cleaning fee per pet for these reservations. As a consideration to our other guests, dogs are not allowed in the main inn, but they can be on the outside porch.
